Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I buy directly from the United Trailers factory?
A: United trailers are sold exclusively through a nationwide network of experienced, knowledgeable dealers located in the United States and Canada. (See the “Dealer Locator” section of this web site) If there is not a United dealer within a reasonable distance, or if you are dissatisfied with your local dealer, contact United Trailers directly and we will be happy to assist you in finding another dealer. Call 800-637-2592.

Q: Can I save money by picking up my United trailer at the factory?
A: Yes, picking up your trailer at the factory can save you freight charges. We suggest you get a freight charge quote from your dealer first. Dealers pick up multiple trailers at one time to save on freight charges. However, if you choose to pick up at the factory, be sure your vehicle is equipped with the proper hitch. Many dealers are also professional hitch installers or can recommend a local hitch installer.

Q: How long will it take to get my United trailer?
A: Production times vary greatly depending on the time of year and the complexity of your trailer. Contact your dealer (See the “Dealer Locator” section of this web site) so he/she can work with our factory to schedule the best possible delivery date.

Q: Do you sell used United trailers?
A: Our manufacturing facilities do not stock used trailers. Most of our dealers take trade-ins and may have something that fits your needs. (See the “Dealer Locator” section of this web site)

Q: Where can I purchase parts for my United trailer?
A: Parts can be purchased from any authorized United Trailer dealer. (See the “Dealer Locator” section of this web site) If your dealer doesn't have the part you need, he/she can order it for you. Your dealer can even save you mailing and freight charges by having your part delivered in the next load of trailers being delivered to the dealership. You can also order parts directly from the United Trailers factory by calling 800-637-2592 and asking for our Parts Department. If you believe that the part you need is still covered under warranty from the Original Equipment Manufacturer, check our Parts & Equipment page in the Support section of this web site for OEM contact information.

Q: What kind of United trailer do I need?
A: Many variables have to be considered when choosing the right United trailer for your needs. What cargo will you be hauling in your trailer? How much room does it require? How much does your cargo weigh? This web site shows examples of the types of trailers we build. After looking through our site, we suggest you contact your local United Trailers dealer so he/she can help design a trailer to fit your special needs. (See the “Dealer Locator” section of this web site)

Q: What kind of tow vehicle do I need?
A: Contact the tow vehicle manufacturer or dealership to verify the towing capacity of the vehicle. Compare the towing capacity to the trailers Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Never overload your trailer or over-extend your tow vehicle.
